About CBD
WHAT EXACTLY IS CBD?
TL;DR:
CBD is the element of the cannabis plant that will make you feel so much better… but will never make you feel high.
The longer version:
CBD (cannabidiol) is one of many basic components that make up the cannabis plant. Cannabis has a rich history as a wellness ingredient that goes back (literally) thousands of years. Cannabis is one of the 50 fundamental herbs in traditional Chinese medicine, and ancient Egyptians reference medicinal cannabis in texts dating from as far back as 2000 BCE. Cannabis is also frequently noted in medical texts from around the globe as being useful for medicinal purposes as early as the 8th century. Not only that, it's rumored Queen Victoria medicated with cannabis to alleviate period pains.
Today, the therapeutic properties of CBD have been tested and confirmed by medical researchers around the world. Generally considered to be a safe, non-addictive substance, CBD is one of more than a hundred “phytocannabinoids” (basically, plant molecules). These phytocannabinoids are unique to the cannabis plant and endow the plant with its excellent therapeutic profile for decreasing inflammation, promoting healing, and providing support for achieving balance (in medical terms: homeostasis) in the body.
CBD & THC: FEELING GOOD VS. FEELING HIGH
CBD is closely related to another important and medicinally active phytocannabinoid in cannabis: tetrahydrocannabinol (aka THC).
THC is perhaps the most famous compound in the cannabis plant as it is the compound that causes the intoxicating “high” that most users associate with the cannabis plant.
CBD and THC are the two components of cannabis that have been most studied by scientists. And while both CBD and THC have significant therapeutic attributes, CBD is unlike THC is one VERY IMPORTANT WAY: CBD does not create the intoxicating “high” that THC does. This is because CBD and THC act in different ways on different receptors in the brain and body.
The fact that CBD is therapeutically potent AND non-intoxicating makes it an appealing treatment option for those who are cautious about trying cannabis for the first time.
SO, WILL CBD GET ME HIGH?
Never. CBD does not give users a “high” or a feeling of euphoria. The “high” associated with cannabis comes from another component of the cannabis plant, THC. Our products contain > .03% THC.
Simon Wolff CBD products will always get you happy... but will never get you high
IS CBD NATURAL?
Yes, Simon Wolff has developed a proprietary blend of CBD derived directly from various and carefully cultivated cannabis strains. Our CBD is never synthetically made. We also do not use any heat to process our CBD, so our CBD is not only natural, but “naked” (aka “raw”), and as close to how it appears in nature (and history!) as possible.
WHERE CAN I SEE THESE STUDIES ON CBD?
Thousands of scientific studies have been carried out on CBD. Project CBD is a non-profit organization strictly dedicated to documenting the research progress on this incredible drug.
WHAT ABOUT CBD TOPICALS… DO THEY WORK?
Your skin is your body’s largest organ – and the one that does the best, most effective job of processing anything that comes in contact with it. CBD is especially well-absorbed into the skin, so topical CBD products have proven effective for many users. Most people who try Simon Wolff’s CBD-infused topical products swear by them. (Check out the reviews on our products to see what our customers have to say!)
I HEAR I SHOULDN’T USE ANY CBD PRODUCTS WITHOUT FIRST CHECKING THEY’VE BEEN TESTED FOR DOSE AND PURITY. WHERE CAN I SEE YOUR TEST RESULTS?
Our Certificates of Analysis (aka our COAs) are located on each product page.
ARE THERE SIDE EFFECTS TO USING CBD? IS IT SAFE?
Available research concludes that CBD is safe and has little or no side effects for most users. However, as with any wellness ingredient you use for the first time, we recommend checking with a trusted medical practitioner for their take on what’s best for you and your specific needs.
